Recycled Crafts

    We made several products made out of recycled materials. Recycled crafts have many importance that could help both nature and the people living in it. Some are:

    It is environment-friendly because it's made out of recycled materials. Papers are made out of trees. If we use papers that are already used, we could save more trees. Saving more trees means less floods. Less floods would mean less people would die. The process goes on but the effect is still good. So we should use recycled materials in order for life to go on without hardships.At this generation, our nature is deteriorating. We should move now before end will come.

    It can make the lives of people easier. Yes, the materials are recycled, but that doesn't mean it is already junk. It can be used again with a greater importance. Like the products we made, people can use it for many things such as wallets. We rely on technologies too much. Technologies like computers , cellphones and others have weaknesses too. It can't make the lives of people to the utmost. Recycled crafts could make the lives of people become easier to its full potential since it has various benefits.

    It is cheaper than the other products made of leather, for example. Recycled crafts are made of recycled materials which is cheaper because it's already used. If everyone would use Recycled crafts instead of diamond-embedded bags, we could save both the nature's beauty and the people's energy. We could better use our energy for nature like planting trees. So recycled crafts could save nature from dying.

The first recycled craft we made is a pouch. It is made out of yarns that are being used rarely and a button coming from shirts that are too big or too small for us to use. You can make it a wallet or a pencil case if you prefer it. 

This is another product we made which is also made from yarns and a button. It can be used as headbands, bracelets etc. Not all its uses are for fashion only but for others too like name tags. Beautiful isn't it? 

Arts and Crafts Plates

    You did saw my drawing right? That was my Plate #1. There were 5 plates all in all. I want to share my experiences while I was doing my other 4 parts.

1. Plate No.2(Covering of the drawing book using recycled materials and plastic cover)    

    This, by far, the second best part I did after the free hand drawing. It's mainly because I have time to do it. It is also easier than the rest since you only need to cut and paste. I did it on early morning since I'm not in the mood to do it at evening. I got my recycled construction papers, magazines, plastic cover, scissors and glue to get started.

    I was thinking i would decorate it first by pasting random construction papers of different sizes then some pictures and a sentence at the center. While I was cutting I was thinking if it would look good. Next second I didn't bother. I asked for help on covering it since I don't know how to cover it with a plastic cover. I was happy when I have done it.

2. Plate No.3(Designing the First Page)    

    This has been one of the worst I made. I didn't put much effort on it since the time is ticking faster than I have expected.

3. Plate No.4(Folding and cutting of Basic Shapes and Forms)    

 a. rectangles     

    Rectangles were easy to make but not easy to make it straight. I made flags and the first four letters in the alphabet. It took me a lot of time thinking which really wasted my time.   

  b. squares     

    The first thing that comes to my mind was a crossword puzzle. I love crosswords because it is challenging. I made somewat a chessboard black and white since I don't have time.    

 c. circles     

    I made a basketball, a large one. It was the only thing that was there. I focused more on other subjects where my grades are low so I didn't finished it.   

  d. stars(5-pointed, 8-pointed, 4-pointed)   

   The 5-pointed and 8-pointed we're easy but I wasn't able to finish the designs, sadly. I didn't understand how to do the 4-pointed one.

4. Plate No.5(Expanding Shapes and Forms)   

  a. expanding rectangles     

    It took all of our TLE time making one of that. I had hard time unfolding it back so it really took me time.   

  b. expanding squares  

   I didn't know how to do it. I paid all of my attention to the expanding rectangle so I didn't make it.    

 c. expanding circles     

    Same as on the expanding squares, I failed to make one.

Plate #1: Free Hand Drawing

We we're ask to draw something that inspires us. I drew hands holding the Earth with a book at the center of the Earth. It's not that good, I know. If you're really confuse on what I meant by my drawing, I'll tell you.

So it's all about a world full of books. Books inspire me because of the wisdom it gives. I rather live in a world full of books than a world full of riches. Why? It's because wisdom is knowledge which tells us what the world is or why we live in the Earth. Wisdom also is deep inside you. You can't lose it even when you pass away. In the other hand, riches won't give us insight about the world we're living on and riches are easily lost and becomes of no value when we pass away.

You're still confuse? I bet the quotes make you wonder why I put it in my drawing. The quotes tells us about books. The first quote by Marcus Cicero tells us that books gives knowledge to our soul. I think he means that If you don't have books or don't read books, you won't be able to live in the world. Like our body, it can't live without a soul. The second quote by Ernest Hemingway struck me more. I agree with him because like what I said earlier, we can't lose the knowledge we gain from books. That's why he said that a book is the most loyal friend.

JAM 2012, HS Night and Centennial Atfest

Two events in a week? It would be a very tiring week. And It really is tiring with the blazing sun with its scorching heat. We got a long to-do list. We used the week for practices in our project so that it wouldn't be a waste of time. 

It was JAM; it would be great seeing those players play. Almost everyone are desperate to watch the games. I concluded that because the Gym is full of people watching especially the MPCC which were loaded even outside when the ADMU plays. They fancy the players of ADMU. I bet they are very good players I feel bad not being able to see their game. I wasn't watching many of the games. So I think that's it since I ain't present in nearly all of the games.

We were celebrating the Centennial Atfest the whole week. We were required to be at the main campus for five days for the attendance. It was not that boring actually since we used the time for practices. 

The HS Night was held on December 5. I didn't went to the HS Night because I did attend it last year and I know what I experienced. It didn't go well for some of us. I regret that last year so I didn't go this year.

My Experiences in Webscripting and Javascripting

 It's been about two weeks already since I used a notepad to create webpages using webscripting and javascripting. I got to admit that i don't bother myself trying to make more webpages because sometimes it makes me frustrated. I want to share my experiences about webscripting and javascripting. 

   I started learning webscripting about two months ago, I think. I was a bit nervous of the lessons we are going to learn because I have no idea what it is. I learned about the use of it and the definition of some words related to it. I felt relieved because everything is about definitions which is not a thing to worry about. But as time passes by, things change.

   After we learn some definition of words, we were going to learn a few basic codes. It's the thing I'm nervous about. It's been hard for me to learn such confusing codes. Luckily, I survived, we all did. But, I know there will be more difficult codes than these basic codes. I feel confident since I found a key to success which i would tell you later. After webscripting, we would learn about another scripting language.

   Javascripting is harder than I thought. I lost my confidence and the key to success. Looking at the codes, my mind gets so confused. I said to my mind, I can't do this' and 'I can't do that'. Sometimes I get frustrated when nothing shows to the web browser. It's really a pain for the eyes to look for the wrong codes. But I found another thing that would help me in javascript; and that is to practice. It's easy if you practice a lot. 

   If you ask me, the key to success is to do your best and don't give up. It will make you feel better than giving up.
